2002 Robotics Team

Robotics Team Wins Xerox Creativity Award

The Patchogue Medford High School Robotics Team competed in the US FIRST Long Island Regional Robotics competition held at Suffolk County Community College at Brentwood on March 15th and 16th . The team finished as a quarter finalist in the final standings. The robot operated flawlessly in its matches.

The team was awarded the prestigious Xerox Award for creativity. This year’s robot has a “mini” robot that is deployed during the match to gain more match points. Because of this unique design, the Judges awarded Patchogue Medford with the Creativity Award.

The team will be travelling to Disney Worlds Epcot Center to compete in the National Championship Contest, April 25th – 28th, 2002. The team made it all the way to the semifinals last year and hope to do as well this year.

Team members are Alex Reben, Jason Wolf, Joe Sullivan, Jim Wolf, Chris Tremblay, Robert White, Brian Mooney, Russell Blumenthal, Ryan Davidson, Matt Balitreri and Pat Doutney.

Advisors are Mr. Kevin Ray, Mr. Joe Daniello and Mr. Tom Kelly
