The Relay For Life is the American Cancer
Society’s signature activity. It offers
everyone in a community an opportunity to
participate in the fight against cancer.
Teams of people camp out at a local high
school, park, or fairground and take turns
walking or running around a track or path.
Each team is asked to have a representative
on the track at all times during the event.
Relays are an overnight event, up to 24
hours in length.
Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while
raising much-needed funds to fight cancer
and raise awareness of cancer prevention and
treatment. Team 329 has been a member of
the Relay For Life in Patchogue-Medford
since the year of its inception in 2007.
The team often has multiple members of the
team who walk through the night. In
addition, the team takes part in the
multiple dances and themed laps which are
held through the evening. Team 329 also
performs large amounts of fundraising; in
both 2007 and 2008, the team was able to
raise over $500 for cancer research
