The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious
awards that a FIRST team could receive. It
is the highest honor given through FIRST
Robotics and Team 329 achieved this award at
the 2008 SBPLI regional. Team 329 was
recognized as the team that best exemplifies
the values of FIRST. We were successful in
spreading the FIRST message through various
channels including mentoring rookie teams,
creating and implementing 7 Junior Lego
League teams in our district, community
service, and creating feeder programs.
These experiences have provided our
students with a positive environment where
they are able to obtain a hands-on
experience in the fields of engineering,
programming, math and science. The success
of this team grows annually and the
Chairman’s Award has played a significant
role in getting community and district-wide
support.
“This award gave me the ability to go to
nationals and have the experience to be able
to see all the different robot designs from
all over the world…”
-Nicholas
Valerio
“The chairman’s award allowed team 329 to
exist again this year due to the budget
cuts…”
-Jonathan

“Though robotics I have made lasting
friendships and have had opportunities I
could not have found elsewhere…”
